-
What is the best way to get to the campervan pick up location?
-
Portland International Airport (PDX) is 15 minutes west of Roamerica's office in Troutdale, Oregon. Roamerica recommends getting an Uber, Cab, or Lyft to the office. You can leave your personal vehicle at the Roamerica office if you decide to drive to the pick up spot, but Roamerica is not responsible for any theft or damages if any occur.
-
When can I pick up/drop off my campervan?
-
Please note, vehicles must be picked up and returned only by the Lessee. Pick up and drop off are by appointment only. Appointment times are between Monday – Friday, 10 am – 3 pm. After hours or weekend pick up and returns must be arranged in advance. The pick up and drop off time must be the same to avoid further fees. For example, if you pick up at 10 am, you'd be scheduled to return at 10 am. If you want to return later, $25/hr will be charged for additional time and must be approved by the office staff. Roamerica requires you to provide specific pick up and return times several days prior and to call if you are going to be late. A late fee will be charged in the amount of $100/hr if you show up after your pre-scheduled pick up and drop off time.
-
Is there a minimum age required to drive the campervan?

Each campervan is self-contained and fully stocked to sleep four - but can accommodate five for an additional fee - with standing room inside, two beds, a full kitchen, bedding, and camp equipment. There is plenty of luggage space available. The campervan is much easier to drive than an RV and doesn't require a special license.
-
Is mileage included?

-
You'll need to pay for your own groceries and fuel, and insurance is required. Additional gear and accessories are available for rent. -
Do I have to clean the campervan before returning it?
-
Campervans are thoroughly cleaned prior to your arrival and must be returned in the same condition. The vehicle must be returned in the manner that it was rented, including being reasonably clean and free of stains. It is not necessary to wash the exterior of the vehicles. Failure to clean the interior of the van and equipment will result in additional cleaning fees of $100/hr. Do not cook bacon, fish, curry, or anything that may have a strong odor in the vehicle. Please use an outdoor grill for cooking such items. If there is evidence of cooking strong smells and or grease in the vehicle there will be a $250 minimum cleaning fee. If there is evidence of rodents in the vehicle there will be a $250 minimum cleaning fee. Cleaning supplies and a cleaning check-list are included in your rental.

Yes, however, all dogs require approval prior to booking in order to be allowed. Dogs must stay off all seats at all times. Dogs must travel in a soft crate or similar for their safety and when left in the vehicle. Roamerica has a collapsible crate for rent if needed ($25). For all vehicles, there is a pet cleaning fee. Please contact our Adventures Team to discuss pricing.
-
Are there special requirements for entry into the destination I am visiting?
-
We recommend you visit the local government websites where you plan to travel and review the required documentation for entry, current restrictions, and general recommendations for travel within the area. We encourage you to also visit your home country's embassy website if you are traveling to a foreign country. Requirements can change rapidly. Please be sure you stay abreast of the requirements and restrictions for anywhere you plan to visit. You can also enroll in the U.S. government’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) and you will be sent updates if the situation in your destination changes.
