Are departures guaranteed?
-
All departures are guaranteed! However, please wait to make travel arrangements until you have received confirmation from OneSeed Expeditions.
-
What is the best way to get to the trip start location?
-
Fly into Dubrovnik International Airport (DBV). A tour representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your accommodations.
-
What are the accommodations like?
-
You'll be staying in local 3-star hotels. Accommodations are based on double occupancy.
-
Can solo travelers get their own room? Is there a single supplement fee?
-
Due to covid-19, OneSeed will no longer be matching solo travelers to share accommodations. As a result, the single supplement fee of $460 is now required for all solo travelers to guarantee a private room.
-
How large is each travel group?
-
The maximum group size is 10 persons.
-
What kind of shape do I need to be in for this trip?
-
Multi-sport expeditions require an average level of physical fitness. No technical skills are required, and first-time trekkers, bikers, and kayakers are welcome. OneSeed always recommend that travelers break in their hiking boots before the expedition. Taking training hikes or rides that mimic the mileage and amount of time you'll be hiking in Croatia is recommended. Travelers should be able to swim and feel confident in the water. While not at altitude or too physically rigorous, this trip does include long active days and early mornings.
-
Are meals included? What is the food like?
-
Included meals are dinner on Day 1, breakfast and lunch on Days 2 - Day 7, and breakfast on Day 8. Meals are a nice mix of Croatian dishes and Western food that are high in carbohydrates and protein to keep you fueled up for the expedition. Breakfast may include eggs, oatmeal, bread, ham & cheese, fruit, tea, and coffee. Lunch is usually a sandwich (with vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free options), fruit, and dried fruit. Expect delicious Mediterranean food for dinners on your own. Lots of fish, seafood, risotto, potatoes, spinach, olive oil, olives, cheese, smoked ham, figs, tomatoes, pasta, and bread. OneSeed is able to accommodate most allergies and dietary preferences. Please include this information when you fill out the OneSeed registration form. It is suggested that vegan travelers bring extra protein bars.
-
How much extra money should people budget?
-
This would vary depending on your spending habits. Please see the Price Does Not Include section for an idea of items you'll need to budget for.
-
What is the etiquette for tipping?
-
Tips for expedition guides are always appreciated. The usual tip for guides is $7-10 per guest per day. Tipping etiquette in Croatian restaurants is pretty standard. It is expected that you leave a 10% gratuity, even if there is a fee included on your bill. If you found the service particularly wonderful it's good etiquette to tip 15%.

-
Should I purchase travel insurance? If so, do you have a recommended provider?
-
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance for all trips. Travel insurance allows you to seek reimbursement if you are forced to cancel your trip for unforeseeable reasons, or if you need to cover medical help, emergency transport, and/or theft or accidental damage while traveling. For travel insurance, we recommend VisitorsCoverage as a provider.
-
Are there special requirements for entry into the destination I am visiting?
-
We recommend you visit the local government websites where you plan to travel and review the required documentation for entry, current restrictions, and general recommendations for travel within the area. We encourage you to also visit your home country's embassy website if you are traveling to a foreign country. Requirements can change rapidly. Please be sure you stay abreast of the requirements and restrictions for anywhere you plan to visit. You can also enroll in the U.S. government’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) and you will be sent updates if the situation in your destination changes. You can find the program link at https://step.state.gov/.
