What are we doing in response to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak?
We are closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and we are committed to keeping our travelers informed. We are continuously monitoring the latest guidance from the U.S. State Department, CDC, and WHO and staying in constant contact with our in-country tour operators. Each tour operator we work with has a crisis management plan in place. Your safety is a top priority!
We’ve worked with our tour operators to negotiate more options for you to change your travel plans if needed. Many of our operators are offering more lenient cancellation policies and waiving date change fees to allow you the most amount of flexibility possible. For policy information about a specific trip, please contact our Adventures Experts. Book with confidence and know your investment is protected.
You can also easily cancel with no fees and no questions asked within 72 hours of booking.
We’ve also added several great deals on trips departing in 2021 if travel isn’t an option for you in 2020.
Are trips operating as planned?
We currently plan to operate most of our trips as planned. Some trips departing in the next 30-60 days may be impacted due to travel restrictions across the globe. We will notify our travelers if there are any required changes to your trip. If a tour operator cancels your trip due to unforeseen circumstances, you will have the option to reschedule your trip or receive a store credit toward a future trip.
Should I refrain from booking flights right now?
Travel is a personal choice. For those that choose to travel, many airlines are offering BIG savings right now and very flexible booking options that allow you to modify your reservation, should you need to, without any fees. Contact the airline provider to review current policies.
What happens if travel bans are issued in the area to which I am planning to travel?
The operator will no longer be able to offer the trip if the local government advises against ALL but essential travel to a respective area. A comparable trip, a change of dates, or a store credit toward a future trip will be issued.
What should I do to prepare for travel?
If your travel plans have you going through a country with an elevated travel advisory from the U.S. State Department, we invite you to contact your flight provider as some flights may have changed because of travel restrictions in place. You can check travel advisories at https://travel.state.gov.
We also highly recommend that you take precautions while you travel like thoroughly washing your hands regularly, disinfecting surfaces you touch, avoid touching your face, and bringing along personal hand sanitizer during your travel. We also recommend consulting with your health care provider before traveling.
We suggest you check for any restrictions placed on entry to your travel destination, especially if you have previously traveled in or through a country affected by COVID-19 recently.
Consider adding optional travel insurance to help protect you and your investment. Some insurance providers will offer an add-on benefit called, Cancel for Any Reason.
